Examination of cerebral blood flow prediction using signals from magnetic resonance angiography: A comparison with cerebral blood flow using 123I-IMP

چکیده

Carotid artery stenting (CAS) is a procedure used in the treatment of internal carotid stenosis, condition that can lead to cerebral infarction. Cerebral hyperperfusion syndrome among post-CAS complications. Thus, ensure postoperative control, understanding blood flow warranted. Nuclear medicine scan for quantitative assessment flow; however, since magnetic resonance imaging allows artery, it often pre- and postoperatively. In present study, we compared angiography (MRA) with nuclear determine if MRA delineate patients CAS. The correlation coefficient between predicted regional obtained from 123I-IMP was 0.68. Moreover, concordance rate high. As result, test may be as an alternative found reference value clinical practice.

Measuring cerebral blood flow using magnetic resonance imaging techniques.

Magnetic resonance imaging techniques measuring CBF have developed rapidly in the last decade, resulting in a wide range of available methods. The most successful approaches are based either on dynamic tracking of a bolus of a paramagnetic contrast agent (dynamic susceptibility contrast) or on arterial spin labeling. This review discusses their principles, possible pitfalls, and potential for a...

Blood Flow Simulation in an Aorta with a mild coarctation Using Magnetic Resonance Angiography and Finite Volume Method

Coarctation of the aorta is one of the five main congenital cardiovascular failures, accounting for 6–8 percent of these failures. This research aimed to simulate the blood flow of a seventeen-year-old male teen with a mild coarctation at one-third of his aorta's descending branch. The simulation was performed by extracting the domain and the input pulsatile velocity signal as the boundary cond...

A patient-specific study of blood flow in a cerebral aneurysm using medical images

Background: Cerebral aneurysm disease causes intracranial hemorrhage by rupturing, which can eventually, lead to organ failure or death. For this reason, it is important to anticipate the reasons for rupturing of a cerebral aneurysm from biomechanical point of view. Investigating this disease may even help the physicians to find treatments and predict the patient’s situation. This research was ...

Regional cerebral blood flow using quantitative MR angiography.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE We sought to derive regional cerebral blood flow using vessel flows from quantitative MR angiography (qMRA). MATERIALS AND METHODS Flow rates in the 15 major cerebral arteries were measured on retrospectively gated fast 2D phase-contrast MR angiography obtained in 83 healthy adult volunteers (age range, 24-74 years; mean, 42 years). The arterial network of the brain was...
